SHAPE UP YOUR FLAWS:Get inspired from a Bamboo tree
BE AS STOUT AS A BAMBOO
Way back to my school days, I have this favorite tale about a bamboo tree.
This bamboo tree was being bullied by the other trees because of its skinny appearance; cannot bear fruits and cannot provide shelter for birds. The arrogant trees kept on bragging about their beauties, how big they are, how beautiful are their leaves and how many kinds of birds love to be sheltered by them. They all laughed at bamboo tree.
The bamboo tree felt hurt and insecure and never said a thing against them. One day a raging storm came rashing with a powerful, destructive wind. The beautiful trees were aghast.
Their leaves were shattered, their branches were broken and worst they were uprooted from their places. They shouted and cried.
But the bamboo was still in its place. Its stems were just bending and was dancing in the motion of the wind. It did not break nor uprooted from the soil.
Next morning after the storm, only the bamboo tree has stood firm from the rest of the destroyed trees that were once a beauty.
Are we related to the story? Yes. This is a great motivation for all of us. We are like bamboo trees who has many flaws. Some fellow friends will not be a good companion for us, few will criticize us, will put us down and even betrayed us. They will make us depress at some point.
Let us not dwell on their negativity. We shall use their criticisms to build ourselves with positivity. We must not allow them to shake us.
I read a quote somewhere and says like this,
" when they throw stones at you, collect each of them and build an empire"
"We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed but not in despair; persecuted but not abandoned; struck down but not destroyed." 2Corinthians 4:8
