WHAT DO WE KNOW ABOUT THE OLD TESTAMENT?

The Old testament is the picturesque of God's omnipotence, omnipresence and omniscience. It showcased his governance, authority and heart towards us.

It also reveals his divine characteristics such as:

⭐️ Righteous judge -  He judges the heart. 

"The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart." 1Samuel 16:7 NIV

⭐️ Disciplinarian- He strictly enacted his law for the people to obey, also, serve as a precaution to refrain from doing sinful acts.

"My son, do not despise the Lord's discipline, and do not resent his rebuke, because the Lord disciplines those he loves, as a father the son he delights in." Proverbs 3:11-12 NIV

⭐️ Gracious- Even in his great anger because of the people's iniquity, his love never fails and it will always prevail.

"For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believes in him shall never perish but an eternal life" Romans 3:23

"He prayed to the Lord, 'Isn't this what I said, Lord, when I was still at home? That is what I tried to forestall by fleeing to Tarshish. I knew that you are a gracious and compassionate God, slow to anger and abounding in love, a God who relents from sending calamity. Now Lord take away my life, for it is better for me to die than to live."Jonah 4:1-3 NIV

⭐️Demonstrative - He is open to his feelings.

"Let my eyes overflow with tears night and day without ceasing; for the Virgin Daughter, my people, has suffered a grievous wound, a crushing blow. " Jeremiah 14:17 NIV

The mystery of his sovereignity cannot be contained in a book and cannot fully understand by a mortal mind. Surely, as we continually read and contemplate from it, we will get to know him more spiritually, since, it is a personal interaction with God.
