About The New Testament as the Depth of God's love
The New Testament is the sequel of The Old Testament The two cannot be separated because they are interconnected to each other. Just like any typical book series.
Even though, they are divided, the objective and the context of each book is still the same. God's agape love for us has never changed and He actually shows the depth of it in The New Covenant in the form of:
🐑 Grace and Salvation
- He gave us a Savior to redeem us from the bond sin.
John 3:16
For God so loved the world that
he gave his one and only Son,
that whoever believes in him
shall not perish but have eternal life.
Romans 5:8 ESV
But God shows his love for us
in that while we were still sinners,
Christ died for us.
Ephesians 1:7
In him we have redemption
through his blood,
the forgiveness of sins,
in accordance with the
riches of God's grace.
🐑 Reconciliation
-Through Jesus Christ our relationship to God has been restored.
We can connect to God anytime of the day.
2 Corinthians 5:18
All this is from God,
who reconciled us to himself
through Christ and gave us
the ministry of reconciliation
🐑 Adoption
-We shared the same inheritance as the Jews.
Ephesians 2:14
For he himself is our peace,
who has made the two groups one
and has destroyed the barrier,
the dividing wall of hostility
John 1:12, NIV
Yet to all who did receive him,
to those who believed in his name,
he gave the right to become
children of God
It is also the ultimate revelation of God
to mankind which He generously shared to us.
1. It sealed the Eternal Salvation
John 5:24
Truly, truly, I say to you,
whoever hears my word and believes him
who sent me has eternal life.
He does not come into judgment,
but has passed from death to life.
Romans 6:23 ESV
For the wages of sin is death,
but the free gift of God is eternal life
in Christ Jesus our Lord.
1 Thessalonians 5:9 ESV
For God has not destined us for wrath,
but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ
2. It sealed the Eternal Death
2 Thessalonians 1:9, NLT
They will be punished
with eternal destruction,
forever separated from the Lord
and from his glorious power.
3. It sealed the End-times
Matthew 24:14 ESV
And this gospel of the kingdom
will be proclaimed throughout
the whole world as a testimony
to all nations, and then the end will come.
Revelation 1:7 ESV
Behold, he is coming with the clouds,
and every eye will see him,
even those who pierced him,
and all tribes of the earth will wail
on account of him. Even so. Amen.
4. It sealed the People
1 Thessalonians 4:17 ESV
Then we who are alive, who are left,
will be caught up together with them
in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air,
and so we will always be with the Lord.
1 Thessalonians 5:9 ESV
For God has not destined us for wrath,
but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,
It is not an ordinary covenant,
it is our anchor of hope to leave the old ways
and start for the better.
